My ICT Skills

I can work with most of the programs in the MS Office family. I am an application developer. My main programming language is Lotus Domino, but can easily switch to other SQL language. Currently I’m trying java and Python.

This is before I started the program in ICT for Education. In This program I have learned a lot of tools which I am able to use in the education process. In the first year of the program i have been introduced to many tools and resources that I can put in good use for education.

I have learned tools like popplet and freemind for creating mindmaps.

Tools for communication and collaboration. Tools like google drive for collaboration with google docs, google sheets and google slides.

Brainstorming tools and techniques like affinity mapping, 6-3-5 method, C- Sketch up, Design matrix and the De bonoo hats.

Tools like toondoo and storyboard that to create comics to use in education and make teaching more fun and interesting.

Tools like scamper and google sketch up for innovation.

 

Tools like  kahoot! for evaluation in an interactive way which makes it more fun to do.

In the second year I have learned to create advanced lesson plans with all the aspects for teaching worked out in detail.

I have learned to create total lessons using multi intelligences and different learning styles. These lessons have all the ingredients so other teachers can take them and could be easily used for teaching.

I have learned to make games for use in education. A simple Microsoft office tool as power point could be turned into a gaming software where you can create nice interactive games for educational purposes.

i have learned to make my own film. With this knowledge i can create ted talks about any topic to use in the Surinamese classroom or education.

I have learned to create a blog or website which i could use to create lessons to use on the internet and create a distance learning environment for mainly Surinamese purposes and audience.

In fact, in these three years i have learned, that i can search for anything on the internet, that can be used for education:

Skype for education

Facebook for education

Twitter for education

Power point for education

Comics for education

…………………. for education

and if i could not find anything on the internet this could be the opportunity to create something in an educational and didactically responsible way with what i have learned from this program in these past three years combined with technology.

With these tools, lesson plans and pedagogical knowledge i have gathered the last three years of this program along with the use of technology blended together, i will be able to reach both kids and  adults (teachers and parents) and educate them in an interesting and fun way.
